Localbitcoins.com allowing gift card sellers to get away with fraud

I recently bought $700 in Amazon gift cards from a "reputable seller" on lbc (localbitcoins)
Sellers name on lbc is DanieleTucker
The cards worked fine I ordered some stuff and everything was good. 3 days later my amazon account was closed and my money and orders were canceled.

I have been asking lbc support to ask the seller of the gift cards to provide proof where he or she bought them. They are basically putting it all on me to provide proof and they won't do anything about it.

It is perfect for the scammers and lbc because Amazon has a policy of keeping quiet and keeping customers in the dark. They sent me the same email 6 times now after calling several times, tweeting amazon help and trying to have them send an email that says "gift card # was invalid and this is why we closed your account. "

Amazon will not give any details, I will provide images of the email and other details of the lbc seller " danieletucker "
Who is selling around 250- 500 bitcoin worth of Amazon gift cards as well as other gift cards per year.

    Tons of scammers on there.

Have you tried contacting the buyer? Did they respond?

localbitcoins is very poor at policing scams on there. High volume traders basically get away with murder there.

Never accept anything but cash deposited into your bank account, and always verify that it was actually cash put in, and not a check/money order/whatever.

I contacted the seller right away and at first Daniele said j" just give me a few days and I'll give you the bitcoin back"

About 5 mins later Daniele said they need "proof" before they will refund me. The issue is amazon won't give me proof they just give me the same email response.

I have never used an Amazon gift card before. I always used my credit card to order stuff..

Dan Druff's Rule #1 of Customer Service: "Never use e-mail when a phone call is possible."

Call Amazon, don't e-mail them. If necessary, get a supervisor on the line. They are mostly third-world, but they're actually pretty good and fairly empowered.

Well if you call them they tell you that a specialist has to email you about the matter and that they have no way to put a specialist on the phone. It's alot bigger of a pain in the ass than just calling a Supervisor to get it fixed. I wish it was that easy.
