Did an interview on 30 for 30 talked to him about cork bats and steroids. I remember a game he played the bat broke and cork came out. The most interesting about Sammy is that he is white. Not a disease or anything he just wanted to make the change he said. His hairstyle white as well

The lone bright spot of my childhood as a Cubs fan was when him and McGwire were dueling for the home run record.
I think they were tied at one point in the summer but McGwire then kept a pretty good lead.
Of course it was all juice fueled but so what. Then he hot busted with a corked bat and started burning bridges around the organization. When the Cubs were actually good in the early 2000's he didn't matter as much.
