“And since became left wing”. Where based on any of those quotes does it say he was left wing? “Not being fond of Trump or Kirk” doesn’t automatically make you left wing. There’s certainly a high correlation there, but there are plenty of non left wing people that fit that criteria as well.
I mean statistically speaking odds are pretty high your views are going to be diametrically opposed to someone if you feel compelled to assassinate them, so from a pure odds standpoint it’s reasonable to assume in a case like this the person would be left wing. But yet also to be compelled to carry out an assassination attempt in the first place you have to be pretty fucked up in the head so all bets are off. And specific to this case we’ve not seen any clear cut evidence either way of motive. But yet both of our wonderful political parties are trying really hard to spin their preferred narrative. It’s so disgusting.
I was commenting on CNN talking about "differing" opinions of his political attitudes, when in fact they were not differing. The only "differing" one goes back to his high school days, which is mildly interesting but irrelevant regarding how he feels today.
Sure, he could be something other than left and hate Trump/Kirk. But it's pretty unlikely that he's any kind of conservative if he hates both Donald Trump and Charlie Kirk, as well as their general views. I do know some conservatives who legitimately dislike Trump, and maybe some of those people also wouldn't have liked Kirk, but it's unlikely they'd also hate all of their opinions unless they're actually not conservative at all.
Sometimes killers of famous people are actually obsessed fans, rather than haters. I thought that was possible here (though far from the most likely explanation), but it wasn't automatic that the killer had to hate Kirk or his views. In fact, it could have just been someone who wanted to be famous, or cause an incident which the world talks about.
But I think we have a pretty clear picture here, and it's of a kid who grew up in a conservative Christian family, was conservative himself during high school, and then went the complete other direction over the past 4 years. I put it at a tiny chance at this point that the guy was still conservative, but hated Trump, Kirk, and their values.
The "groyper" angle is so bizarre. There is no evidence that he's a groyper, but as VaughP pointed out, they're trying very hard to push that narrative. After all, how vindicating would it be for the left if Kirk's killer was just an alt-right nutcase who hated Kirk for not being extreme enough for their his taste?
It's absurd.
I also laugh when I keep reading libs write, "He was from a conservative Christian family. It's pretty obvious he was on the right."
What?? So there's no such thing as college-aged kids rebelling against their parents' conservative views?
They say this dumb shit with confidence, as if they completely lack any form of common sense.
