Some of the higher limit action has started to return as well.
Not bad for early morning.

I wonder if Antigua is listed quite often in the list of "not available in" lists.
it appears very shortly somebody will have to impose micon's head deepthroating HOFNig...
this isn't going to end well for him...
Then what happens to the leftover bitcoins?Quote:
The cash out system will only be maintained for another sixty (60) days. All activity on the sealswithclubs.eu domain will cease on May 5th
Did the other remaining people make a deal with the NGC/authorities? Perhaps there was some sort of a cease/desist and they negotiated to pay out until May 5?
No deal was made, to my knowledge. hdev, xdev, and whoever else held onto the money have decided to cash people out on their own, most likely for the dual reason of not being charged with fraud/theft, as well as the fact that they're probably decent dudes and don't want to steal from people.
I imagine the 60 day cashout system is to preven them from having additional exposure to law enforcement to eventually be identified and raided.
I guess it's also possible that they want to keep the remaining BTC and call them theirs at that point, but I suppose their stance is reasonable considering the legal danger they face.
David Gzesh, a Las Vegas attorney with expertise in Bitcoin and online gaming, said that broadly speaking, a Bitcoin site is subject to the the same laws as any other business.
“Using Bitcoin technology does not generally make any activity more or less legal than it would be otherwise,” he said. Bitcoin isn’t a “get-out-of-jail free card” or a “cloak of invisibility,” Gzesh said, noting that if a site is operating without a required license, it’s doing so illegally, “whether you’ve used Bitcoin or not.”
That said, Gzesh sees a lot of potential for Bitcoin in the gaming industry, and he thinks Nevada regulators will have to consider incorporating the technology at some point. Two downtown casinos agreed to accept Bitcoin last year, but not for gambling.
Wow.
So a local lawyer who specializes in bitcoin and gaming just spelled out that everything Micon did and continues to do is patently illegal, and the article also plainly states that an investigation is ongoing, per quote from LE.
More than anything, I feel kinda sorry for Micon right now. I really do. The man was the public face of bitcoin advocacy in Las Vegas, all he wanted from life is to combine poker with bitcoins, and because he did so illegally, he cant get a seat at the table as the bulk of the fucking gaming industry starts to adopt the technology.
Real talk, that right there is why I stopped fucking with reefer. It limits your options, and the dumb fucking plays potheads make kill the remainder.
Phantom's comments section entries at bottom of all of these articles are A+ work.
Has Micon's Las Vegas address become Graceland for the BTC gambling crowd?
I would be fascinated to know if it is available for rent? Drexel knows a guy. Kind of public info anyway.
Do you prepay rent when "intending" to travel to Antigua for a year?
There is gonna be a lot of hate when his stuff gets auctioned and I scoop the crispy green velour track suit & Air Force 1's.
Micon is the only member of the old seals team that has been contacted to my knowledge.
There were two major motivations behind setting a date to finally shut everything down. The first is a practical one, I have to go out and find a job now; the urgency of which grows the longer I sit around doing this without being paid. Secondly, we were already seeing a massive slowdown in cashouts and hoped it would wake people up to the fact that they cannot wait forever to put their cashout request in. It's boosted the request rate over the last couple of days, though I wish it was higher.
Thankfully there has been a pretty great response by players to the request that they do their cashouts immediately and spread the word. We cashed out nearly half of the overall balances in the week before we actually decided that we would close forever. We've gotten at least 80% of player's balances to them already and my projections suggest that we will reach the high 90 percentage of balances successfully cashed out by May. The choice to set the cashout system sunset date of 60 days out was chosen because 30 days wouldn't get us to 95% and the projected difference between 60 days and 90 days is less than 1% of total balances.
I don't know what will be done with the remaining balances, my entire focus has been getting to players what is their's. I'm exploring options to blindly ship any balances via bitcoin to email services after the system is brought down. It really does not amount to a significant portion of pending player balances, but it's something that I know is out there so will be done so that I can honestly say that a true best effort was made.
