Two things:
1) Trump's win will continue the collapse of the Republican party.
2) The economy was the biggest concern for voters as the exit polls showed. Trump inherited Obamas growing economy, but now he starts at the bottom, having to strengthen it which he has no ability to do so.

the market seems to rise every single election. my read last night pre-results was money was moving on the current regimes policies being continued. that was obviously wrong. ive had a few of the elder pit veterans explain to me that its more a case of the market simply gathering in 'old faithful' type indexes like ES, which wildly outpaced the rise of NQ for example. and that they were doing so because if theres one thing money loves, its certainty.

i would think more votes should be cast 2024 given this was perceived as a close election going in, the population is larger 2024 v 2020 and the population is the same or older average age---all those factors contribute to a larger turnout

I always thought there would be less votes. I remarked on it in the morning. There is more turnout than I thought. I wasn't enthused about Biden or Harris, but there was more vitriol against Trump last time. I voted last time. I voted for like 3 things yesterday and not the presidency. Everyone was sitting at home with their dick in their hands getting mailed ballots in 2020. I also imagine a lot of people in California and Oregon and Washington paying attention to early voting returns and the early turnout news knew it was over before they went to vote after work.Quote:

I will be generally curious as to how the final tallies come in for the western states and particularly CA. I am sure PLO is more interested unless he moved out of his popular vote positions.
I woke up in PA yesterday morning. If it wasn't 76 degrees and I decided to golf, I stay in PA and don't vote for the 3 things I did. I never know opinion beyond my own gut and my social circle, which can be totally unreliable. I don't bet much on elections. Not at all on this one. I should have. Obviously from my comments the past few months, I always felt Trump would win. I know people who feel like I do and were way less motivated with Harris, and the others surprised. I was surprised that black men actually showed. I was not shocked at all Trump killed it with Hispanics.
I didn't disbelieve 2020 election theories because I felt confident in the inherent goodness of Democrats in Philly or Detroit. Fuck I would have shoved 100 ballots in the box some elections I have felt strongly about if the penalty wasn't so severe. I am a white guy going to be tried by a bunch of white guys. They would send me away.
But all those cases, no one could ever produce a single shred of evidence. Every case kicked in front of republican judges. Every right wing news person pushing it on newsmax and Fox settling out of court to make it go away. A san I am guessing voted Biden in 2020 or not at all. A jayjami. Me. I am pretty sure none of us did this time. These things are decided by 6 guys in a 100 breaking different each go around or simply not caring enough to vote.
