Micon wanted us to paste those QR Codes all over the WSOP walls, in order to get new users to Donkdown.
At the time, very few people knew what those were, nor did they have a way to read them.
Micon rationalized, "Those nerdy kids, a lot of them know", but in reality we would have gotten very few, if any, new users from this, as QR Code readers just were on very few phones at that point.
And then we were risking someone at the WSOP getting angry about this, figuring out how to scan these themselves, and punishing us for unauthorized posting/littering.
So, yes, I pissed on the idea, and I still feel I was 100% correct to do so.
He was not offering me to buy in to any business related to QR Codes, or anything like that.
The only Micon obsession that I regret not following was bitcoin.

You're 100% right, i was positive he was going to do PMITA prison time.
2 things changed my mind:
1) The charges are still state, the feds didnt get involved. Which says pretty clearly that this is de-escalating instead of the opposite.
2) I've been keeping an eye on the other gaming cases the prosecution is working and they are fucking up right and left. If they work out a plea with Micon they can tax his extremely well off family + Martha's extremely well off family with zero risk, which is important considering Nevada is broke as shit and its getting much, much worse every single year. If they go to trial and get their cased tossed like they did with the Wei Seng Phua debacle, careers are going to end.
And given that Phua's lawyers are Team Chesnoff, I mean, smart money is on a plea here, all the way.
Edit: maybe Micon will do a very minor stretch but Id be surprised, the state needs a re-up of cash more than it needs to pay Micon's room and board.
yeah but cant the argument made they do an Ulbricht on his ass and make an example out of micon to deter anybody else from thinking of doing something as stupid as setting up shop in the state of Nevada?

But when I look at the situation beyond the egos of the Gaming lawyers, I see a bunch of people who should be legit concerned if they keep their jobs. The state needs money and they are fucking up, boldly.
Also remember Micon wasn't running the show behind the scenes. He was a glorified affiliate.
I'm leaning towards probation and no jail.
