Epic Day Today Fishing off the Coast of Ensenada

drove down to Ensenada early this morning and headed out on a 'super ponga' for a day out on the water with my bro Dave


weather was absolutely perfect


I'm not exactly the most 'seasoned' fisherman, but managed to land a nice 27 pound yellow-tail.


He put up a damn good fight for almost 10 minutes, but bagged him


we had a pretty nice haul catching 3 good sized yellow-tail's, a red snapper, and a decent sized rock fish


spent the first hour fishing for live bait, and then headed out about 12 miles


was an amazing day even though I'm pretty fried


obv Winnie had a blast too

yea we got to keep it all, and they filleted them for us when we got back to the dock

I'd say we ended up with about 15 pounds after all was said and done

looking forward to doing up some nice yellow-tail steaks on the BBQ

I've been wanting to drive down the coast and do some yellow tail fishing for years now, but just never have the time. Living free like you're doing definitely has its advantages. Congrats man, happy for you.

I forgot to mention that we came very close to some Gray whales on 3 different occasions today

also saw a bunch of dolphins and sea lions

the red snapper was in the bait hold

that was a bonito

not very good eating

and the rock fish we caught was a ling cod
