Druff- Please don't combine with the other mixed thread, this post has some specific information that needs to be shared. Thx
Resident trolls- Please dont thread crap in here as I want to share some vital information about the new growth and demand in the town.
Random/General Notes-
There has been some random talk about Goldfield, NV on here prior, but some new information as come in and I would like to share.
Over the last 10 years, I have driven through Goldfield about 6-7 times and found the place dead, but interesting. No stop lights, no stores, no gas station or working pumps. I did see a real DJ on the mic at the local radio station (KGFN) store front. I would like to explore the town more and actually camp some where on the north end.
The town has like an S curve in the road, but it used to go straight through. The 76 owner said it was altered because of the past mining operation.
I love Nevada road trips and this is one of my favorite drives and places to explore. If you ever do the drive, come prepared with bottled water, snacks, firearm, flashlight, etc. I wanted to invest in the 76 gas station, but the owner said there was no way to do it. The only option for me is to buy 76 gas (PSX) stock and I already have some of that.
General article- Step Inside The Creepy, Abandoned Town Of Goldfield In Nevada
The PAST
- No EMS ambulance or fire dept. service there. There is a Sheriffs dept. dispatch and I assume they have 911.
- Some residents own their own fire truck and ambulances there, I assume they just respond some how if needed.
- Seen the local car junk yard business there. The owner seems to have a lot of retired police vehicles, classic carss and even a retired fire truck. Pretty busy for a random junk yard out in the middle of a desert ghost town.
- On August 17, 2016, I took the picture of the abandoned fuel pumps with the "pizzacatparty.com" sticker. Dont know if or when they worked. That pizza cat website is still up and online.
The PRESENT
- I do not know where or how the Sheriff's department fuels their patrol vehicles. I assume they have gas pumps on county grounds.
- The state recently installed a visitor center there. It actually has public restrooms and an EV charging station, not Tesla. This facility is the most modern spot in the whole town.
- The new 76 gas station/truck stop is almost complete and should open soon. This will be BIG for this ghost town as it was about to die soon.
- Not sure who offers cell phone coverage in Goldfield.
- If you have a medical emergency in Goldfield, expect to be flown out.
The FUTURE
- The Fed approved new mining project- BLM approves gold exploration project in Goldfield mining district . This is supposed to be a major project and expect to see some major change and traffic in the town.
- The 76 Truck Stop owner told me over the phone at this new mining operation is going to be BIG and the town is looking how to get housing brought in, either temporary or permanent.
- Once the 76 truck stop opens, this should be a boom for the town and bring in some actual retail sales money.
The business opportunity- If someone out there has the capitol and resources, there is a new demand for housing for the mining operation and the 76 gas station/truck stop.
I took this pic on 8/16/19 and know the pumps are still there, just decorated with something over them.

I took this picture last year. This is an old Truckee Meadows fire engine (E-One) out of Reno, Nevada. A nice unit and it looks like the local resident is finally selling it.
