George Burns was able to barely hold on until the century mark, and then croaked about 2 months later.
Provided that the height listed of 6' is accurate, Philip actually did quite well lifespan-wise, as very few men 6' or taller make it to their 100th birthday. He just missed it.

I know he had that old man view of the world, but in general, he was cool, right? Seemed to be less inbred and way more normal than the typical royal. It’s stunning how long him and the Queen have been around. I’m not a young guy and they seemed old for my entire conscious memory. Hell of a life.
